Metron Labs was founded in 2025 to build the best possible design copilot for the built environment. We are engineers with first-hand experience of the issues companies actually face, not theoretical ideas about how things should work.
Our foundational thesis is that visual communication dominates the built environment; nobody describes how rooms are laid out or how a window should be installed, they draw them. As a result, computer vision technology, or visual AI, is the key.
For a sector that’s worth trillions of dollars and is so essential to a flourishing society, combining computer vision with other cutting edge technology solutions has the potential to unlock a vast amount of value.
Technology is not new to the design, construction and property sectors, but so many solutions fail to hit the mark. Industries that appear homogenous at first glance are highly fragmented, perspectives are often traditional, and however smart your tech is, it all ends with muddy boots on the ground.
We are not naïve enough to guarantee we’ll get everything right first-time round, but we have several core principles that set us apart from incumbents.
- Accessibility – our products should be easy to use for everyone, with no onerous onboarding or extended training. This means an intuitive interface and natural language, not buttons and more buttons.
- Automation – our products should focus on expediting the boring bits of work, freeing users to spend more time on truly creative and high value tasks.
- Independence – our products should exist outside other software ecosystems, so all you need to get going is an internet connection. This isn’t because we think other software is bad, but because requiring users to have one software licence to benefit from another compromises true accessibility.
By sticking to these principles, we can build software that is instantly valuable, all without reliance on our industry’s web of external subscriptions and confusing file types.
